Quantum Slit Experiment

This simulation demonstrates the famous quantum slit experiment, a cornerstone of quantum mechanics that reveals the wave-particle duality of matter.

When particles like electrons pass through slits, they create an interference pattern on the detection screen - as if they were waves passing through all slits simultaneously rather than particles going through one slit or another.

However, if you "observe" which slit each particle passes through, the interference pattern disappears and particles behave classically!

Click the "Toggle Observation" button at the bottom to switch between quantum and classical behavior. Use the controls to adjust the number of slits and their properties.
